Organ Magazine_e0203829_16411441.jpg

Orgues Nouvelles

Orgues Nouvelles

is a rather new French organ magazine, of about two or three years.
They use beautiful photos and have good articles which are accessible to all amateurs.
We are subscribed because we want to help them continuing even if the price is not a price of a magazine.

We knew that the next volume was "special Belgium", as the organ professor of the Conservatoire of Liège, Anne Froidebise was working on it.

One morning last week, I found the magazine delivered in our mail box.
But I found three of them.
One for my husband as it's with his name that we are sunscribed, and two for me.
But I have never asked, so I did not want to open them.
Must be a mistake!

Beside France itself, the French speaking organistic world stretches to Canada, Switzerland and Belgium, and often I read their articles with names of organists which I have never heard and organs that I have never heard of.

But this time, the special issue from here, I knew all the organists who wrote or are interviewed in the articles.
Very enjoyable, as I discovered more things about our collegues and about the country's organistic history.
In the same time, that gave me some sort of horrible anticipation of "What if, they speak about us?"

It was no need however, when I ended reading.
Just before closing the magazine, I saw the CD attached.
and I was

shocked

nearly

to scream.

Because my playing was a part of the selection.
Even a little photo of myself on the cover was smiling at me.

How did it happen?
Pondering for a while, I realised the piece I played was in the inauguration CD of the Loret organ of the church of Finistere, the CD edited by SIC (of Jean Ferrard, editor of the Magazine de l'Orgue).

He has written an article in the magazine, and it must be him who gave the CD to the editor.
But there has been no written explanation and it remains mysterious.

After the shock and doubt, came a relief though, for I imagined some organists from the unknown town might be thinking " That local organist in Belgium has a strange oriental look and name...".

How nice to be heard by others, finally016.gif
