絵日記6日目 | the 6th day_e0203829_074360.jpg

Monday the 4th July
very Sunny and getting really hot.

Getting up on Monday morning means "OK, get ready for the lunch time concert" to me normally. But today it was for "another lunch time concert", for which I was going to go and practise. So much less responsibility, no need to worry about noises or thieves in the church during the concert etc...

Light hearted, I took Chuo-line and Toyoko-line to get to the Yutenji station with my daughter who wanted to come and see Shibuya.

The streets near the church of St Paul's welcomed us with the warmth of déjà-vu. The church is surrounded by trees which made the stained glass effect through large transparent windows.

It was my first time to play the Japanese organ, build by the Tsuji organ builders.
Very sensitive to get the wind pressure, the touch and the sound balanced, I spend two hours trying to get the grip of what I want to do on this difficult organ. Having put the second trio sonate of Bach in the program started to appear as a super challenge. It was one of my main aimes, in any case, to play that sonate decently in Japan...

When I was turning off the organ, my daughter who was taking photos and reading books, just said
"Seems a struggle, this organ?"
I answered her,
"Oh do you hear that?"
thinking: my God, they should not hear that, on Friday.

It was already four o'clock, and we went straight to Shibuya in search for a place which serves late lunch. Directly up on the 9th floor of Tokyu Plaza, we found a restaurant with cool noodle displays in front of it. Without knowing where to eat, the emply stomach seemed to have read us to what it fancied.

Once stomachs filled, we lost all our sense of direction and we were perpetually in the flow of fimale voices with high harmonics which could not be natural but specially trained for the purpose : Summer sale! Good buy! Come and look!!!!

If only one lower harmonic voice with velvet like timbre called "Come!"..., I could have gone to see the shop..., I imagined, running away from shop to shop.

"Where is Tokyu Hands?"
"And the leather bag shop called Organ, that could not be far...,"
No way to find a shop interesting to shop without a map, we took an iced coffee and returned to take a train back home.

The rush hour being started, we were in the middle of another flow of people of course.
I hated myself to have organised just to be exactly on this time of the day to take a train.
My daughter asked me if she could sit down there, pointing the small space next to the train door, and I had to beg her not to do that, "Remember, you are in Tokyo!". I was just hanging onto my last hope, the strap too high on mormal times but saves lives when you are packed between people of divers hight.

My mother who came to pick us up again at the Kunitachi station looked to us like a saviour.
My legs ached when I went to bed, as if I had done a whole day of mountain walk, although all what I did was two hours of rehearsal.
